Kinda hard to tell, IMO. I think it will be neutral. In normal times when gold is neutral a rise by the fed has a slightly net negative effect (ie the positive effect of a confirmation of inflation is outweighed by the "better places to put your $$$$" and the rise in the American dollar negative effect). With the market currently so volatile and not acting on fundamentals, just on short covering, lease rate effects etc. I think we will see no large swing that could be attributed to the proposed fed action. I hope there is an effect because of the trading opportunity it presents, but I dont think so.

Regards,
Dean
