Good morning, K:

Thanks. We had a great time. We wondered the coast from Portland to Baa Ha Baa--checking out many of your recommended sites: Pemequid Pt., Mt. Battie & Cadillac Mtn., etc. For the most part we had excellent weather, except at all three of those locations all we had was overcast, clouds and fog..not great photo opps. Went up to the top of Cadillac Mtn. to see the sunrise one morning and, again, all clouds. (Should have slept in.) Like I told NW, we were very surprised at how non-social the locals were, not to the point of being rude, but certainly with no sense of humor. I guess that part of the brain has been frozen, or maybe their underwear are all too tight.

The only restaurant we were able to make that your recommended was the Harbor View, which was good, but was not near the "dump" you describe. If you really want to see some ragged-looking places with good food you should come to Houston sometime, or let me show you a few places in Louisiana--or even, my favorite bar-b-q place in the world: Slick's in Muskogee, OK.

BTW, speaking of food, I also hear the Peppe's doesn't hold a candle to Sally's. Sac-re-bleu, can this be true??

Cheers,

f
