The tracert program tests each hop 3 times. Just to be sure I guess. If you get three " * "s in a row it's called a timeout. Generally, for a dialup connection you're supposed to see most of your times under 200ms. My roadrunner connection is usually a lot faster than that. The first few hops are under 10ms and then the rest are under 50ms on a good day. Yes, it's easy to save the results as text. Click on the ms-dos icon in the upper left corner of the dos-prompt screen. On the menu choose Edit and Mark. Then drag the white square to include what you want to copy. Then click on the icon again and choose Edit and Copy (Wow! I just found out you can paste into this sucker too!) Now you can paste that stuff where you want (eg. into a SI response).
