No, it makes sense as stated. DVxplore is the encode silicon and Ziva-3 is the decode silicon. The WinHEC demo was not a consumer level product -- wasn't the Pioneer recorder $17,000 or so?

It won't be expensive once the Chinese get involved. Remember Konka DVD players?

Sony better get off their arrogant asses and buy CUBE's chip or this train will pass them by - as it already has on the DVD-ROM front.
