John,

Perhaps the message could have some "intelligence", recognizing where the PM came from and sending the user back to the original message.

Never one to misunderstand, I hear your frustration, John. Like you, I'm also forever searching for intelligent messages. Seems to be more of 'em here on SI than on the other sites though don't you think? ;)

Here, let me help!

<<Perhaps the message could have some "intelligence", recognizing where the PM came from and sending the user back to school.>> ;)

getting back on that inbox thing so far it looks like the refresh button does the trick...that is when a red 1 appears but no message, I hit the refresh and the message shows up but I do have one problem....when I delete messages they don't go away so I tried the refresh button and that worked and the little red 1 went away but then when I hit subject marks or portfolio the little red 1 reappeared and if I actually hit the little red 1 then the message reappeared ....so if I then rehit the refresh it finally goes away but you have to that twice for each header subjectmarks and portfolio..funny thing didn't happen with people marks or other headers.

Since most if not all companies now have web pages I thought it might be nice that under "company profile" there was a link to that company's homepage.

Dear Members,

There are a variety of threads throughout SI, including this one, that include a fair amount of discussion about ways to improve SI. We want to actively encourage that kind of conversation and open feedback. However, it has become increasingly difficult to keep track of all of those conversations on a multitude of threads. We're only human, sorry. <g>

So, going forward, we're going to try to consolidate all of your good ideas and input into one thread - the Silicon Investor ThinkTank.

Subject 31837

The SI team here at Go2Net will actively monitor and participate with you in the ThinkTank thread. I'm not saying that we won't look for your input elsewhere, but there are literally thousands and thousands of you, and only a relatively small handful of us. So, the more traffic that we can target toward the ThinkTank, the better.

I also want to take this opportunity to formally introduce a relatively new member of the team - John Busby. (His SI alias is the same as his name.) John has been with us for a couple months as the Silicon Investor Producer, and some of you have already met him on a couple of the threads. John is responsible for managing the daily details of rolling out new features. So, if you don't like the color of a particular page...yell at John. <vbg> Just kidding. Don't yell at John; he's a great guy, and he works really hard on your behalf. John will be actively monitoring the ThinkTank thread, as well as engaging the community for feedback on specific features.

That's all for now. Please join us in the ThinkTank.

Thanks,

Bryan
