MRTI - .037 great news out -staring to move!! Metal Recovery Technologies Inc. Reaches Agreement with Meya
Metal Recovery Technologies Inc. Reaches Agreement with Meyado International
Limited to Complete Construction of East Chicago Dezincing Plant

Business Editors

HAMILTON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999--(OTC Bulletin
Board:MRTI)

Following meetings held in London, England and subsequent
discussions last week, MRTI has reached an agreement with Meyado to
complete the original commitment to provide financing for the
construction of the dezincing facility in East Chicago.
Construction on the 150,000 ton per year plant began during the
third quarter of 1998 and continued at a satisfactory rate until April
1999. It has taken several months to meet with and settle differences
between MRTI and Meyado.
Legal documents are now being drafted and should be completed by
the end of October. Following signing of this amended agreement,
Meyado will provide guaranteed financing and a guaranteed maximum time
frame to complete the plant. An experienced project management team
will be hired to oversee the construction of the plant.
MRTI believes that the completion of the East Chicago plant and
its subsequent operations will demonstrate to many interested users of
the process and users of its products that it will meet the needs of
the foundry and steel industry for a clean scrap steel and high
quality recovered zinc.
Metal Recovery Technologies Inc. utilizes a patented process that
removes zinc from galvanized steel scrap yielding two end products:
99.8 percent pure zinc, and the high quality reusable "black" scrap
steel. The dezincing technology has been developed by Metal Recovery
Technologies in partnership with the Argonne National Laboratory and
the United States Department of Energy.
A further announcement will follow in due course.
