DiViT, read that line again. Pace didn't put a microSparc chip in that box. Hitachi's SH-3 is the CPU...........

High Performance CPU
The power and speed of the HPW-200EC is nothing short of amazing. Much faster than Hitachi's previous models, the HPW-200EC is powered by Hitachi's new SuperH SH-3 (100 MHz) RISC processor. With the new SH-3 you can enjoy the speed and data handling capabilities you're used to in the office no matter where you are.

Pace Delivers ADSL Technology For SGI Video Wall At Telecom '99
GENEVA, Telecom '99, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Pace Micro Technology plc has supplied 134 ADSL capable set-top boxes to deliver the broadcast service into the eight-meter-high video wall on the SGI booth at Telecom 99 (7199, Hall 7).

The video wall uses SGI's head end server platform to deliver broadcast- quality video pictures through Pace set-top boxes. From the SGI server, four fiber optic cables with an ATM signal are directed through an ATM switch. The switch interprets the multiplex signal, directing individual program signals to each of the 134 Pace set-top boxes in the video wall which are linked to 21-inch television screens, in a spectacular three dimensional display.

Commenting, Pace's marketing director, Andrew Wallace, said, "Working with SGI on this project for Telecom '99 is an excellent demonstration of how telcos can now use their established copper wire networks to deliver digital television and interactive services. We have been working with ADSL since 1994 and our latest ADSL capable set-top boxes are currently in field trials for the imminent launch of Europe's first ADSL-based interactive digital television service with Kingston Communications in the UK."

Note: Pace ADSL capable set-top boxes can work to both ATM and Ethernet protocols. The company also works with a variety of development partners for the delivery of ADSL video networks.
