From postings by others who are involved in production, it seems that production of MPUs is about a 50 day process. So they probably ran small quantities to verify the process, then began full production once the ouput from the sample runs had been qualified. So now they are distributing chips from the sample runs while they wait for the production parts to finish going through the 50 day fabrication process.

Can anyone of with FAB knowledge confirm?
