A big IF. CDPD and it's ilk are currently charged on a per packet basis, and itis very expensive.

Jesef - did you mention the pricing scheme for the new CDPD over TDMA
service?

I agree with you, but then your "tiny little packets" concept just went out the window. IF you bring cut down web pages to the masses, they will consume more packets, and thus fill up the system....

Fyi: you message was 200 bytes. The whole page was about 14K

You may have slightly more of the tiny pages than regular browser pages, but what usually gets cut is the bloat. As far as filling up the system, as long as you have some slack, say 5% the CDPD is almost free. Another thing that may work in favor of the carrier is that you may have different peak usage hours of the voice and data.

Anyway, doesn't ISS-95B use similar scheme?
