Profit taking is a term usually used to describe selling after a surge in the share price. Looking at Intel's performance over the last month (down from 90 to 76) it is a little far-fetched (even for an Intellabee) to call selling at this point "profit taking".

RE <<<Hey Ted: FYI..Intel was trading strong today before the Fed announcement and then profit taking set in. INTC, MSFT and some others came off their lows in the last 1/2 hour. The key term there is "profit taking". Probably not an option for most AMD "investors.">>>

Oh I get it. So intc's drop from 89+ to 76 in the last 3 weeks was profit taking. I DON'T THINK SO!!

Who did you say was hilarious? You guys need to be e-mailing your ceo to find out what's up; the better 2nd half he promised isn't looking so hot.....but you knew that already; that's why you came over to this thread to hassle.....makes you feel better, huh?!
