US DVD Player sales top 100K in lastest week. Sales should stay above this number through December. More than 1/3 of this years US sales are ahead..................

Vital Statistics - 10/5/99

According to statistics from CEMA, for the week ending Sept. 24, 1999, DVD player sales are still phenomenal with a total of 108,180 sold, a 315.2 percent increase from 1998 and projection television sales were 35,100, a 4.5 percent increase. Month-to-date sales are even better. The total number of DVD players sold is 226,011, a 322.7 percent increase and projection television sales also increased having sold 110, 539, a 21.3 percent increase. Year-to-date, DVD player sales have reached 2,097,867, a 323.2 percent increase and projection television sales at 760,631, a 10.5 percent increase from 1998.

(OT) I bet that you cannot get a RDRAM system from Dell -- Intel's chipset doesn't work and lots of PC manufacturers are sitting on usless motherboards. RDRAM manufacturers have lots of supply, though!
