Thank you for the thoughtful insight. I think I understood the article about AT&T in USA Today to say the FCC will be "ruling on the rules" tomorrow (or maybe Saturday) which will decide whether AT&T can legally acquire Mediaone.

I do not believe the FCC will bend the percentage control rules to such a great extent and the AT&T acquisition of Mediaone will be a bust. This may produce a dip in price in the cable equipment players. If you find out anything about the FCC ruling then please post here. Thanks. I promised myself last month I would not buy any more of the equipment makers until I could see the effect of this ruling on stock prices.
