Interesting thread, but not very popular i see.... dunno why, it's a good idea. Maybe you should suggest a more popular or recent film or book that more people have seen or read. just a thought.

Charley- A Man In Full...

I have not read this book, but the review you forwarded to me has piqued my interest. Especially Glendon's summation of Wolfe's portrait of America... it is accurate and insightful... especially about the upper classes imitating the lower classes, a too little discussed topic. I wonder if his book explores this issue as I have read some interesting theories on this class dynamic.
