More indication that the Waterhouse sale would have occurred on Sept 29th (That was a 10 Million share day for NITE)...

Waterhouse Inv Svc Filed To Sell 8M Knight/Trimark Shares

WASHINGTON -- Knight/Trimark Group Inc. (NITE) shareholder Waterhouse Investor Services Inc. registered to sell 8 million shares of the company's common stock, according to a Form 144 released today by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Filings Business News reported Monday.

A Form 144 indicates the intention to sell restricted stock. The filing of a Form 144 opens the door for an individual to sell the shares but does not definitely indicate when the actual sale of the shares will occur or has occurred.

The filing indicates Waterhouse Investor Services intended to sell the shares on Sept. 29 on the Nasdaq Exchange. Credit Suisse First Boston was listed as the broker for the transaction.

That was the day of the rumor about NITE being bought by MER in which NITE went from $28 to $33. Wasn't FBCO was on the ask as NITE was rising that day? Nice idea of theirs: Create a rumor and then sell into strength.

I'm sure Pasternak is fed up with this buyout rumor stuff! That's why he put the kabosh on it with his comments this week. NITE shareholders will benefit handsomely if NITE remains independent anyway, so that will be a good thing.
