hi lizzie,

i really do think that's a browser function that can't be altered. if i'm reading you right, you're saying that a page is loading in another browser window behind the one you're working in, and when it finishes loading, it pops up front.

if no one here can think of a way to do it, i recommend that you post the question to netscape newsgroups.

help.netscape.com

i've had great success finding answers from the helpful people on newsgroups.

good luck. (and i like the name change.)

:)

As an IE user and not having used Netscape for some time I can only offer this suggestion. You might check your preferences and see if it has an option pertaining to opening a new browser window in a separate process or something of that nature. Also you may want to check your help file under that subject.I know IE doesn't have the condition you speak of.

Lizzie,

When I access new URLs Netscape always seems to return focus to that browser window...

I have that annoyance on my machine, too. Also, I like to open my Bookmarks folder in a browser window, click on a link, and have the downloaded page replace the bookmark folder. Lately (with IE50) the new page sometimes comes to another window, replacing something that I was going to go back to.

I guess my solution is to minimize a window while it is downloading, or when I want to work on another. With my cheapo macro program it is actually quicker than the old way.
