Looks like some pump-n-dump activity in the stock going on.
Per equityalert, CY was one of the "momentum" stock for day-traders.

Oct. 6 Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISSI) commented today on the impact of the Taiwan earthquake on the supply of wafers and the interruption of normal production in Taiwan.

ISSI is currently securing approximately fifty percent of its wafers from Taiwan. The other fifty percent is supplied by WaferTech in the US and Chartered Semiconductor in Singapore. "Based on information provided to us by the Taiwan fabs, we believe that approximately 12% of our work-in-process wafers in Taiwan will be scrapped," said Jimmy Lee, president and CEO. "Therefore, the overall impact to ISSI is approximately a 6% loss in wafers. In addition, we anticipate a two to three week delay in wafer output from the fabs which will adversely impact product availability for the December quarter."

Mr. Lee further stated that the seven day power outage in Taiwan caused an interruption in shipments as well as interruption in the assembly and final test steps of production. "As a result of the interruption in shipments, we estimate that our quarterly revenue for the period ending September 30, 1999 will be approximately $20.0M," Mr. Lee said. "As a result of the wafer loss and delivery delays from the Taiwan fabs, we estimate our December quarter revenue will be approximately $21M to $24M."
