Amazon has largely met their early objectives - the "rest of the story" is how profit margins will evolve on the Internet. Covey prefers to refer to incremental profit on sales rather than margin - but the test of this grand business plan will be how well Amazon can turn huge sales into profits relative to such mundane things as sales, debt and shares. I have little doubt that the company will turn profitable but believe that margins will not develop to justify lofty Internet valuations. But that is a discussion for another day - growth is still todays' mantra.
