One interesting point: when MU was slow to commit to Rambus, every bad-news Rambus rumour was fuel for MU speculation. Now that all of MU's competitors are halting Rambus production and shifting back to SDRAM it means that MU will have more trouble gaining and holding SDRAM market share than was foreseen during the period when the stock price rose to $80.

While it will take the others time to switch, and MU can have a great quarter in the meantime, the big players are looking beyond the current quarter to decide whether to buy or sell MU. So although the latest Rambus news may be good for MU, the company, it may have a negative impact on MU, the stock.

It is sort of a corrollory to "buy the rumour, sell the news." It would have been better for MU, the stock, if ugly Rambus rumours continued to circulate, but competitors were still building Rambus parts. That's no longer the case.
