LG I don't know what, if anything, SI plans to do with the vote concept in the future. Based on Brian's introductory message on the voting thread, it does not appear as though SI is sure what they are going to do with it in the future either. That said, I think, at least in concept, it is a good idea to have some kind of community appeals process for (most) suspensions or terminations. At the very least, it is a recognition on SI's part that the community is an important part of the business. Heck, if you think other things deserve a vote tell someone at SI what you think they are. I have found the folks at SI to be very receptive to ideas and suggestions: the current "vote" being just another example. Regardless of how the vote turns out and regardless of what other "broader issues" may be implicated, I see the current vote as a positive thing for SI. Or, to use your word, I think it gives them "credibility." Even if someone hates A@P, the "vote" demonstrates SI's willingness to listen and try new things. Isn't that how we got SI (and much of what is on it today) in the first place? SI is constantly evolving and there will be bumps along the way. They don't claim to be perfect or to not make mistakes. The willingness to try new things, even if they fail or later prove, in hindsight, to have not been such a good idea, is better, in most instances, than not having tried at all. The broader issues can (and I am sure will) be dealt with when, and if, they arise. Troy
