Ole49r, I agree that anylawsuit will not get settled for 2-3 years unless they make an out of court. The the Y2K turns out to be harmless then the lawsuits will self destruct.
This will be the real test of all that disclaimer BS in the licences of all software.......not warranted to do anything, not responsible for any harm etc.....
I think the Y2K crisis will be a fizzle with few things going wrong and iut will casue few if any fatalities. Of course some will try to blame software for stuff and try to get their Y2K consultants fees paid, but I think there will be a sea of unemployed Y2K consultants in a few months and all the lawsuits will go away. Either that or we will go back to the stone age and all the lawyers will be killed and eaten, either way no lawsuits.
