Children. When my kids used to fall down, they would look around to see if anyone was watching them before they began to cry. If they thought no one was watching they wouldn't cry very loud or very long. GC too wouldn't make his shock effect statements if they didn't get him so much attention. If you want more of it, acknowledge it. If you want less of it, ignore it. Or as an economist friend of mine used to say, subsidise it to get more and tax it to get less. JohnG
