The thing people who insist on bringing up the Tulip-mania analogy to today's stock market forget is that there were plenty of plants you could have invested in at that time that did make money over the long haul. Wheat for example.

Diana, you are most gracious in taking the effort to promulgate the history of Tulipomania. I trust this will invoke a Caveat with those that will heed to the similarity with our current environment regarding many, not all, internet stocks.

Thank you. I just purchased a couple of hundred tulip bulbs to plant over the next few weeks. To show you what a shrewd trader I am, I got them all for less than the $44,000 quoted in the article. (:-} Bill
