Yahoo earnings.....................?? 16 cents and 2 to 1 split.. for Yhoo according to unconfirmed reports...so far..can some one confirm? Yahoo (YHOO) is announcing third quarter earnings after the bell today and it should be another good quarter with a positive surprise. The consensus estimate according to First Call is $0.09 with a low estimate of $0.06 and a high estimate of $0.12. Most analysts' official numbers are $0.09 - $0.10. The Earnings Whisper number had been lower for much of the past two weeks because of analysts like Michael Parekh at Goldman Sachs lowering their expectations earlier in the quarter. However, the consensus has remained unchanged and the overall expectations have increased recently. Safa Rashtchy, at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, told EarningsWhispers.com that he expects Yahoo "to do exceptionally well fueled by three factors: mush faster-than-expected growth in user base, higher ad revenues from more targeted inventories, and much higher contribution from international operations." Our Earnings Whisper number is $0.12 with revenues of $145 million. You may listen to Yahoo's conference at 4:30 PM EST at corporate-ir.net Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is another story, but there have still been estimate revisions going in opposite directions. While most analysts have been lowering their estimates for AMD, A.A. LaFountain III, at Needham & Co., actually raised his estimate by $0.02. However, the Needham estimate is now inline with the consensus estimate of a $0.98 loss and many of the analysts feel the company will report inline with estimates. Still, there is an expectation that the company will provide a slight surprise over the lowered estimates and report a loss near the Earnings Whisper number of $0.90.
