Yahoo Q3 proforma earnings well above estimates

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct 6 (Reuters) - Internet media giant Yahoo Inc
(NasdaqNM:YHOO - news) Wednesday reported third quarter operating income that was
higher than most forecasts and said that traffic to its Web pages continued to show healthy
growth.

The company said its pro forma third quarter operating income totaled $40.4 million or 14 cents per share in the third quarter,
up from $6.9 million or two cents per share in the year-ago period. The consensus among analysts had been for a third quarter
profit, before charges, of nine cents per share.

To my way of thinking, that's a helluva lot better!
