I agree. This is an opp. to buy more in a co. with great growth. What does BMC stand for? Help settle an argument.

My theory is that the shortfall is a shift in fundamentals.
The explanation at the conference call about "quarter end gamesmanship" is not convincing since this kind of thing happens every quarter.
I think this signals a downward shift in business momentum , since the company said it missed its internal plan both in Europe and US. In Europe it is due to some structural and organizational problems, however the problems in the US (the US have compensated for the problems in Europe before but not now) I think is more deep. I think in may be due to the mainframe sector of the company which accounts for about 2/3 of the revenue becoming gradually displaced by distributed systems. It may be a reflection of the industry wide trend, which should affect other mainframe software vendors. Any comments?
