>>human evolution, reptile-bird evolution, and the evolution of the Galapogos finches have all been well documented. << human evolution is a very dodgey topic, with a few different species of the homo genus sure, but not enough to be sure that humans have evolved from these things, just that there were species similar to humans, there is a VERY important distinction there. I think you understand what I mean. As for reptile-bird evolution I'm not very well informed, maybe you could give me some references. As for the finches, are they the ones with the increasing length of beak? if so, this is only an example of micro evolution, a very small change within a species. Also I have heard but cannot substantiate that following a flood of the island that the average beak length of the population returned to what it was prior to the drought. If these are not the finches you are referring to please give me a bit more detail, would be very interested to hear about it. Also, re: the horses, similar to what I've said before about many species, but not necessarily decendants of each other. I've also heard (but could not back up) that the order of the horses was illogical if the age of the fossils was correct and with a small amount of fudging could be made into a more logical order. Couldn't say how true this is, and don't want to start trouble on a comment based on a semi-fact, but this is definitely worth looking at a bit more closely before blindly stating a clear progression... :-) hehe I know what you mean about the volume of posts, I'm spending quite a lot of time reading through the old posts, will have caught up soon hopefully. obviously this is a topic which interests me a lot.
