Mark,

<I'm beginning to think the energy wasted on keeping track of the many variables in direct stock trading may actually be misplaced>

The discussion on all the execution routes, quirks, games, systems, technologies etc is good and important stuff but still secondary to simple stock picking and good timing.

The technology makes its harder for a bad trader to succeed. But a good trader can do very well without losing sleep over the different algorithms between ARCA and CyberX limit orders.

Alan

The s&p appears to be tradable using various pattern and breakout techniques, with a very high success rate and less stress than stock trading. The chats at intelligentSpeculator.com are a prime example of this.

SOME POINTS:
1. The incredible leverage of the SPOOS adds to the stress.
2. The competition is stronger. (more sophisticated)
3. Theresa (I.S.) is a highly experienced scalper ot the SPOOS and monitoring her chatroom makes it seem easy. It is not the norm by any means.

I may migrate towards them in time and under certain conditions, but do not ever think there is a "very high success rate"
