Amder's copper update. AMd sucessfully produced copper Athlons out of the research lab in Dresden. Sanders stated Dresden Fab 30 will be 100% COPPER ATHLON PRODUCTION facility.

The conf call lowlight, so far, is the volumes. There was talk about 5Mu+ K6s and 600Ku K7 and it turns out that it was 4.5Mu K6s and about 100K Athlons. My sources on this have been off two times in a row now. I better shut up talking about units.

This also means that AMD did not take much advantage of the 810 and other Intel chipset problems.

Lots of good news - one of which is ASPs (~$300 for Athlons in Q3)

P.S.: The unit numbers also contradicts Sharky, Niles, Paul and pretty much everyone else who had anything to say about units. Something is amiss here.

RE <<AMD will cease production of all .25mu Athlons by Oct.31, 99. and will produce all production on the .18mu. Per Sanders good die yields on .18mu have been twice as great as .25mu.>>

Later in the CC Sanders said that .25 production will end at the end of Q4 and not this month. I am not sure its correct but it seems to make more sense.
