Infowave appoints high tech veteran as Chairman

Morgan Sturdy to provide strategic financial and business guidance

BURNABY, BC, Oct. 7 /CNW/ - Infowave Software, Inc. (VSE: IWM) is pleased
to announce that Morgan Sturdy has been appointed as Chairman of the board of
directors of the company.

Morgan Sturdy is a high-tech entrepreneur and executive with an
impressive 15-year track record. Mr. Sturdy recently served as the Chairman of
Hothaus Technologies Inc., a developer of DSP solutions for voice over IP,
until it was acquired by Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM) in July of 1999
for $400 million. In 1985 Mr. Sturdy founded Dees Communications Engineering
Ltd., a developer of computer telephony integration products for Northern
Telecom networks. Dees was acquired by Nice Systems Limited (NASDAQ: NICE) in
1997 and Mr. Sturdy has served as Executive Vice-President and Chief
Operating Officer for Nice Systems since that time.

Mr. Sturdy has also been an active volunteer participant in the growth of
the high-tech community in Canada. He has served as Chairman for the Board of
Academy for Chief Executives in Technology Companies (ACETECH) and the
Vancouver Enterprise Forum and has also served as a director of the National
Wireless Canadian Research Foundation, the Technology Industry Association of
British Columbia and the Electronics Manufacturers Association of British
Columbia.
