Scott,

Wish I were fly fishing.

Please post some digital photos of your adventure.

Scott,

I am glad to hear you liked the G&K posts. I have received a few replies and comments along the way from various people who happened onto that thread a while back. But even after posting the entire series on the Gorillas & Kings Thread I never received a single reply, comment or critique from any of the "founding fathers" of G&K. Eventually it was added onto their "Watch and Wait" portfolio.

My inspiration for the piece was NYStew who originally sold me on SNDK in March/April of 1998 on the AOL SNDK Thread (when it was still active) and recommended Geoffrey Moore's book on Gorilla investing.

My final summarizing comments were included in this post...

Please recall that I never mention entry points for the SNDK in the investment case. I had an established long position before it was written and the stock was just breaking $30 a share when I began posting to G&K. I am still not comfortable (or adept at) picking entry points as my recent purchases at $77.00 on the way down to the low $50's indicates.

I still believe that finding a good stock is easy. The difficult part is assessing value, knowing when to get in, and knowing when to stay the course or bail out.

SanDisk = a kinder, gentler gorilla.
(or maybe even a cuddly panda cub).
