>So, by voting for "someone" that is neither Democrat or Republican, who do you think is going to get elected?<

I do not know. GWB seems to have enough support to win regardless of whether anyone votes for him. (grin) But seriously, though my "instincts" tell me Bush will fail to get the presidency, my mind tells me he will get in regardless of a conservative bolt from the GOP. If social conservatives were to generally leave the party, now would perhaps be the best time to do it.

>You will have a wasted vote, and the least favorable of the two candidates will win. Obviously, Perot and Clinton were the benefactors of this wrongful way of thinking in the past.<

Really now. Can it truly be considered wasteful or wrongful to vote as closely to one's principles and values as possible, rather than voting against one's principles to fashion a "defence" against an enemy? It should not take the fastest chip in the valley to see that in doing the latter, one will at best find oneself consistently distracted from giving a pure, even if unheard, voice to one's beliefs. Those beliefs will never get the vote they deserve because one is too afraid of one's enemies to ever vote for them. As far as social conservatives are concerned, I think it is long past time to stop running to the GOP because they are afraid of the Democrats. They should vote with integrity for a change and stop wasting their votes on a party that is too wimpy or liberal to speak for them. Even should the GOP win, the NEA will still be dunking Christ in urine, and the government will still be sucking out children's brains. So I say if you are going to lose, you should at least have the decency to be true to your own values, and struggle for the things in which you believe, rather than throwing away a vote by giving it no chance at all to represent who you are.

>So, who are you gonna waste your vote on in order to elect Gore?<

I will waste my vote on no one. Can one really pencil in a name and vote for it? I have never seen this in any voting booth. But then again, I have never looked for it. I think I will vote for myself during the general election. I hereby announce my candidacy for President of the United States. And I want your support. In November, vote for Johannes Pilch, a man for all seasons.
