A few observations: I too am perplexed by the "proforma" nature of the reporting. I mean this is a 4 year old company, not a first year start up. Nonetheless, the powers that be seem to accept it. A friend of mine at YHOO told me today that a major battle is shaping up between them and AMZN. He's confident that YHOO is the winner. Amzn is trying to become a web shopping destination and seems to be reshifting their strategy from low touch, to big warehouse touch, to no touch. YHOO is and has been no touch. He was a big AMZN shopper at one point and now tells me that to buying a book through YHOO shopping is much better. Why? you key in the title and it brings back a half dozen places to order it with your "YHOO wallet" One $24.95 book was $22.95 at AMZN, and $14.95 at a competitor. To quote him, "Guess where I ordered my book?" Early adopters (like him) will shift in droves to convenience and price. We also discussed EXDS. Their stock has been a little soft of late and he thinks they're done. (He was a big Exds bull this year) Says everbody is going after their business of web hosting including INTEL. Could cause major changes in growth rates and margins. Might be a short. I'm currently mostly cash. Day traded some amzn today and decided to ride out YHOO's announement from the sidelines. Last month was my best ever (part of the reason I've not been posting) and I want to enjoy it for a little while! :)
