Maybe you're right about the change of leaders. I was thinking about that too and maybe it's the start of change but look at the market cap of a few candidates:
MSFT 481.7 Billion
HLIT 2.07
JDSU 23.2
INTC 254.2
EXDS 5.72
DELL 110.5

I could continue but i think the pattern is clear that the perceived new leaders are dwarfs(maybe growing dwarf becoming gorillas) compared to the old guard.
Can i draw any consequences from that? I don't know but i would not dismiss the importance of the old guard.
As a sidenote:I have a tendency to be too bearish and miss opportunities that way but with a naz at 2857 -only 50 points away from an all time high- i'd rather go short INTC than long since it's still trading under it's 21EMA and 50DMA.
The question is maybe: how high can the naz go without the old guard really participating(except CSCO)? 3000? The market is drawn to round numbers and i can only guess that 3000 might be something the NAZ can do? But we will see.

p.s. WCOM is a new giant in market cap and could be considered a new member of the horsemen club...and it's chart looks very weak!
