Hello elmatador, I'd agree with your reply "why should the user have to learn all that stuff." Trouble is, their survey wasn't of users; they were talking about executive management, engineering management, engineering staff, Technical management, and Technical Staff (see the 5 boxes in the first link for the specific job titles of those surveyed) of the companies supplying to the consumer all these things mentioned.

I'll have to read through it again later since I was left with an entirely different impression than you were.

Hi elmatador,

I concur with all of your conclusions about how end users,
aka consumers, aka ditzes, would not need to know push rods from a battery plates. However, sir, IMHO, you completely missed the point of the dh post. He was saying, as was CED, that the front line technologists who are ultimately responsible for providing the seamless magic carpet ride for the aforementioned ditzes, are themselves clueless. Please review the articles and see if you possibly agree with me that this dog don't hunt.

BTW, you stated that you were going to ECOC, did you report on your findings? I find nothing on the threads. Could U provide a U-RL if you did comment? TIA! I just love to know what's goin' on.
