<the date originally given to software developers (in '97) was 1H '99> I believe there were even more ambitious plans announced much earlier to industry analysts: pan.mdronline.com@19689221dwvbjp/mpr/merced/1017vp.html "1997 may well be the year of first silicon for what is likely to be the most significant new microprocessor family the world has seen in a long time: Merced, the first implementation of the Intel/HP architecture collaboration called IA-64." The first silicon was made in the middle of 1999. Therefore I insist that the MerDUD is TWO YEARS LATE. Period.
