Flat Panel Display Gorilla Game Analysis

I've completed my first cut at evaluating whether or not Genesis Microchip (GNSS) or Silicon Image (SIMG) are potential gorilla candidates in the FPD market. The detailed discussion proved much too long to include here in an SI post, so I uploaded it to my home page:

people.ne.mediaone.net

The bottom line is that I think Silicon Image gave up too much control of their IP in order to participate in the writing of the digital video interface specification to ever be considered a gorilla, while Genesis may have a chance IF FPD prices drop enough to create a tornado AND it turns out that the image quality that their chips generate is impossible to reproduce without violating their patents.

Feedback is of course welcome and appreciated.
