Chuckles - Re: "Could be better, could be worse but no one will know for sure until it goes into production"

Did Sanders say Dresden won't produce Copper/Athlon revenue until Q2/2000 ?

Charles - <Tell it to someone who doesn't know, will ya? I never claimed it was. I challenge you to find a quote from me that says otherwise.>

Charles R - Re: "My understanding is that Intel's 0.18 has about 10% advantage over AMD's 0.18. My thinking is that Cu will probably be the equalizer. Could be better, could be worse but no one will know for sure until it goes into production."

AMD will not start its .18 with Cu production until Q2 with revenue for the Athlon parts in Q3 per the conference call. Intel started generating revenue from its .18 Coppermine parts this past quarter.

That is a 9 month head start for Intel before AMD can close the 10% under-performance gap per your calculations.
