PB - RE: "Did Coppermine surprise you at all in the last few days?"

The SPEC scores did.

But the Athlon on 266 fsb estimated SPEC scores surprised me MUCH more.

"How can you read what Intel's response to the future product will be, when Intel did such a good job of keeping Coppermine, aka, Dixon Shrink, so under wraps?"

My intuition says that if Intel went as far as it did to optimize "E"'s cache, they probably optimized it as much as possible.

Maybe with 512K they can do more "stuff". I have no idea.

Maybe this 512K Coppermine will have a better chipset to run on.
