Peter Piper ---

Delighted to see your name here this morning. I believe you owe me a trout dinner. Or do I owe you????? I've forgotten. :)

If there's room for more investors in Itex, email more info. I sit on a Silicon Valley VC board and we're constantly looking at ideas.

I understand your frustration with Internet high-fliers. Actually, I don't "play" them, but am developing a pretty big sock drawer of tiny positions picked up in IPOs. I figure my grandkids will thank me. (Should I ever have any.)

I'm still in JDSU and SDLI (my biggest winners of all time) and hold a small position in CIEN. I also have several fixed wireless plays --- a market with lots of upside. My biggest winner over the last two months is AUDC. They have products and patents for VoIP used by nearly everyone in the industry, even ATT through Clarent. I've also taken a position in WCG. They have an alliance with SBC and they just doubled their potential market with the FCC approval of Ameritech. I have a large position in NN based on their IP/ATM technology, including a 50/320 gig switch. The 50 gig is going to customer trials in Dec. The 320 will follow 3 to 4 months after. Carriers are chomping at the bit to get them. Also took a small position in EXDS based on a conversation I had with one of their engineers. Again, just enough for the sock drawer.

There are so many wonderful companies I've finally concluded it's impossible to know them all and I might as well stop feeling bad when one gets away. Of course it's always hard if you once owned it and then it flies. I doubled in TXN and then sold it. Bad move. The list could go on and on.

It's a beautiful day here in Del Mar. Clear sky, air warming up, tourists gone, kids in school --- my favorite time of year.

Cheers!

Pat
