Alomex,

It took two bankruptcies, but nowadays Continental is wildly profitable and a force to be reckoned with.

Sometimes it works as described, other times a company that goes into bankruptcy is liquidated or its operating divisions sold (if a buyer can be found) off to pay off the creditors (Eaton's is a recent example).

Haven't we been seeing the comparison to Continental for quite a while now? #reply-3867395 Canadian Airlines is a carbon copy of Continental Airlines. Their stock rose from $2 in Jan95 to present value of $60. This stock [Canadian] is the biggest steal on the TSE. They are not taking on long term financing to loose money . They are planning on expanding their business.

I guess that Canadian was planning on losing money after all, LOL.

... on [sic] retrospect, buying Canadian was my dumbest move ever...." #reply-1881133
