Richard, cannot find any direct statements regarding Malaysia Mining's hedge problems, but one could surmise that they sold a 10 million share block to avoid Ashanti-like margin calls.

Another scenario could be that the huge German buyer Bobby Yelling has mentioned on here several times in the past is winning in some kind of backroom HM shareholder maul. With his huge percentage and MM owning an obdurate chunk of HM and voting against Mr. German's agendae/slate/POO, it could be nothing more than a coincidence.
