yes, this is the maxpain thing we've talked about before.
Even tho I calc it, I don't put a lot of practical value behind it. it's just another datapoint. (I wrote a program to calc it, so the effort part is over with)
in particular, as you point out, I don't think it works as well on indices as the maxpain point tends to get 'pulled' in the direction of the index. IMO.
SP futures sure seem to do a good job of pushing the SPX around quite a bit ;-)
