"Besides these accidental discoveries, unfortunately a number of unskilled and unauthorized people recovered a lot of master pieces of coins which were smuggled out mostly to European countries. SRI Haripure --Does it sound Islamic "In Pakistan, the most accidental discovery is that of Sri Salih (Haripure) Hoard, which is situated in a village known as Manak Rai near the Daur River," he said. The discovery, he said, had been made on Feb 3, 1993, in which large number of coins had been recovered, "but eight of them were very important and rare coins. These coins were purchased and published by Amanur Rehman of Islamabad and Dr Usman Beoparachi of C.N.Rs in a book, "Pre-Kushana Coins", Islamabad, 1995." He said that a number of art seekers in the country, particularly, in the NWFP, who were equipped with metalled detector and other latest facilities, ruined and plundered the historically important sites. "These seekers are also collecting coins from local people, who have now adopted illegal excavation as a profession," he alleged. He said an excavation site, situated at a terrain of mountains in Baboza, Mardan, was completely ruined by the smugglers, who mostly used dynamites for excavation. Since 1996, the white Huns coins and the coins of Hindu Shahi had made their way to local markets from the site, "which are priceless and valuable," he said, adding that recently huge quantity of the coins had been ceased by
