DELL THREAD WAKE UP!!!

Many are worried about recent events concerning Dell's 3Q report while not too many are worried about 4Q report. Taiwan, RMBS Y2K have already been factored in to Dell's current stock price. As I remember it when they came along Dell was over 49 on it's way to 55. Today's price is 43/44 not much downside left IMO as Taiwan earthquake is over and certainly not ongoing. Same with RMBS it's over and can only come out positive from here. That leaves us with FED FEAR FAKE and Y2K FAKE which will IMO turn out to be favorable to Dell.

FED FALSE FEAR FAKE IS UPON US

I dunno Greg...if the market is a forward-looking mechanism (as most of us believe) the factors you mentioned will all be (pretty much) in the past by December..and even, to a large extent mid-November (ie....we/PC companies will know much better the extent of the risk of the items you mentioned)...should already be priced into the stock(s)

Starting Jan. 1, 2000: Improving international economies (needing to fix THEIR Y2K problems, Xeon, Windows 2000, etc)..I think the market will start pricing THIS in shortly...

I also think CPQ, HP, and IBM (stock price) is not that big a factor on the future growth (of Dell's stock price)...

It would be highly unusual for Dell's stock price to be lower (going into earnings) than it is now....I don't ever recall seeing that...we should get some sort (even if muted) earnings run...even if some fear (of "weak" quarter) around...

By 3rd week of November (after earnings announcement), I reckon Year 2000 will rule over the issues you mentioned...

I do agree that wireless has become one the "hot" new sectors..and that this has drawn some institutional focus away from PCs... but also some/a lot of the money that has left was momo money...important if you want you stock to grow at 150/200% a year...but probably not too important if you are looking at a growth rate close to earnings growth (30-50%)

Keep up the good posts...
