Mehrdad thanks! Things do look pretty good. The Symbian license, if true, is just as I suspected: a way to proliferate the Palm interface (which is the main advantage of Palm OS) to other platforms, such as mobile phones. The second announcement also sounds promising -- it may come as early as this Monday. I think she was overlay cautious about Palm VII, but I expected that, given the trouble the company is in about their rosy projections last year.

Mehrdad, Thanks. Particularly noteworthy is the point about better technology and manufacturing efficiencies. Plus COMS has a cash hoard and can compete aggressively. As for Palm, it's a niche product today...but won't be for long. One final thought: I think CE is in the middle of the road and is going to get run over: PCs have many useful functions - and notebooks duplicate those functions. PDAs have VERY DIFFERENT uses, however, uses which require quick and simple lookup and entry. From what I can tell, CE just isn't quick and simple - nor can it handle as much as its big brothers. Question: what types of uses/usage patterns are best addressed by WINCE? Andre
