I shorted the high on BVSN so what did I gain? It went from 166 25/32's (my sell price) (but again only able to short at 164 9/16) went to to 160 sounds good so far, then as I was contemplating maybe making a play it went to 163 in 1 or 2 minutes and barely covered at 163. I don't consider that a good short maybe a good scalping short. I know but only a magician can have entered the short position at the high and gotten in at a low. I think a lot of research goes into a short.. it depends on where the the stock has been, what are the historical price patterns, fundamentals, volume etc.

There is also the consideration of a long term short or a short term short. I'm short until the stock turns on me, I don't hold shorts through 10 points rises. When someone today shorted at 176 the stock went immediately to 190.. only then did it return to 188. Its just not as easy as it looks.
