DomainsAreFree.com Builds Business for Leading Web Host, Internet Communications
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Internet Communications (Icom), a leading Web hosting provider, today announced that its free domain registration site, DomainsAreFree.com, surpassed 70,000 registered users, is hosting an average 1,200 domain searches per day, and is signing and registering more than 600 new domain names per day.

Visitors to www.DomainsAreFree.com can search the Internet to determine if their desired domain names (i.e., www.YourName.com) are available. Visitors interested in protecting a domain name that is available are walked through the registration process. Icom will then generate a security email, and if the visitors respond, Icom then files all domain registration paperwork for free. Many of Icom's competitors charge for this service.

From there, the International Network Information Center (InterNIC) charges a standard $70 registration fee per new domain to process the initial registration and maintain the record for two years; thereafter the annual charge is $35. Almost two years ago, along with nineteen other leading Internet Service Providers that register in excess of 500 domain names per month, the InterNIC named Icom a Gold Premiere Partner. The high level of service that accompanies this elite designation allows Icom to secure domain names for their clients within hours.

''DomainsAreFree.com has become an important tool for a growing number of entrepreneurs all around the world who are interested in growing Web-based businesses,'' said Ben Neumann, Icom's president and CEO. ''Further, it's one of the best win-win tools we've developed for attracting new Web hosting, design, promotion and e-commerce clients for Icom.''

Offering some of the best price-versus-performance Web site solutions available, Icom registers 2,500 new accounts every month and currently hosts more than 30,000 customer accounts while parking about 70,000 domains with its DomainsAreFree.com service.
