I wonder if what's holding down the AOL/ATHM deal is the fact that AOL wants no part of Excite, so ATHM/T are busy finding other suitors to take Excite off their hands, then AOL will step in.

One more time I ask the question. Why does everyone insist that a stock split gives AOL more money to do a deal with anyone? A stock split gives AOL twice as much stock that is worth half as much per share.
