I adore opera- as much as you love fish- I am sure. Let's see...

1)Of whom was Handel speaking when he said, “He knows no more uff counterpoint
zan mein cook” ? MUST be Gluck.

2) What famous Met tenor and soprano used to compete by seeing who could hold the
high C longest at the end of their duet, “In questa reggia” in Turandot ? Nilson and Corelli

3)When Susanna leaves the Countess' boudoir in Act II of Le Nozze Di Figaro, what
has she gone to get? a ribbon

4)In the famous recitative to “Ah, fors' e lui che l'anima”, about whom is Violetta
singing and for extra credit in what key? Alfredo- ah tricky Rambi, tricky- you tried to catch me here- the recitative is in C but the Aria is in A flat.

5) Who do many opera buffs consider to be the greatest composer of the style of grand
opera known as bel canto? (I don't really agree with this answer though) It must be Bellini though a case could be made for Puccini.

BTW- I am working up a physical chemistry test- do you think you would enjoy that?
