Cannacord screws around the most with investors in the smaller companies like CY. Every stock I have ever seen doing some funny stuff has been with Cannacord somewhere around. I am not alleging that Cannacord is guilty of stock manipulation (although I would not be surprised to hear it), I am merely saying that this kind of power and playing with the market can be a very plausible reason for why they have 800,000 free shares (if that figure is correct).

Cannacord started buying with conviction very early in the initial run of the stock. They at one point held more than double what they now hold. They have been selling at a nice profit thereby reducing their per share cost. Their investment is now recouped and their shares still held are therefore "free".
